Jason Domingues Photography is taking it out of the classroom, and onto the streets of Kansas City! Do you want to learn how to take better pictures, learn more about all the awesome things your camera can do, and do it all without having to step foot inside a classroom? Well, then a Photo Walk is for you! You’ll meet up with Jason (and up to 9 other students) at the location of your choice (see options below), go over introductions and a few camera basics for 15-20 minutes, and then you’ll hit the pavement! You’ll be able to shoot whatever you want during the walk (people, architecture, nature, your shoes), play around with your camera and improve your skills, receive instruction and critique from Jason, and walk away feeling oh so confident about all the awesome stuff you will have just learned! Bring your camera along (DSLR is recommended, however if you are using a point and shoot camera, or even film, you may participate too!), as well as any extra lenses, flashes, and accessories with which you want to work. You may bring a pen and paper for note taking, but the main focus of a Photo Walk is learning by doing. 2 hours $100
Walks are limited to the first 10 participants, and registration closes 7 days before each class date. A minimum of 5 participants is required to hold walks in most cases (this decision is made at the discretion of Jason Domingues Photography, and will be based on the number of students registered). If the minimum student number is not met, if the temperature/wind chill is below freezing [or if it is dangerously hot], or if there is precipitation, Jason Domingues Photography retains the right to contact all registered students and allow them to sign up for another walk that fits each student’s schedule. 48 hour cancellation is required or fee is forfeited. Fees are non-refundable, but if 48 hour or greater notice is given, you may apply your fee/transfer to another walk.
Walk location options are: The Plaza, The Nelson/Kauffman Gardens, Union Station/Crown Center/Crossroads (indoor and outdoor locations), and a night walk in The Power and Light District.
Locations will be randomly cycled through, so if you do not see the specific location you want listed below at a time/date that works for you, please check back, as new dates/times/locations will be added every month.
Please click on your chosen walk date to register.
*New walk dates/times will be posted approximately one month in advance.
