Hanyu and Byung | Kansas City Wedding

Hanyu and Byung started out their day with a traditional Korean Tea Ceremony, or Pyebaek [Paebaek].  Here, Hanuu offered dates and chestnuts – symbols of children – to Byung's parents, while sitting at a low table. His parents offered tea in return, and as a final gesture, they threw the dates and chestnuts at the bride, who tried to catch them in her large wedding skirt.  Hanyu did really well, as you can see!  Lots of future children, perhaps?  When the tea ceremony was over, the bride and groom changed into their American wedding clothes.  After galavanting around town for a while with their wedding party, everyone headed to Country Club Christian church for their ceremony, and then finally down to The Mark Twain Ballroom, where all of their guests toasted the new Mr. and Mrs.  It was a lovely day, and we are so thankful we got to be part of the celebration!  Hanyu, and Byung, thank you for inviting us to take part in your day.  We wish you many many years of health, wealth, and happiness!
