Emily and Peter | Kansas City Engagement
Planning engagement sessions with our clients is the perfect way for us to get to know them better. We ask things like, "Where do you like to hang out?" "What kinds of things do you love to do together?" "Do you have any favorite parts of the city?" This ensures that we won't just take them to all the "typical" photo spots, putting them in locations and situations that don't have any personal meaning to them. But rather, it guarantees not only that their photos will be "real" and "them" but also that they will be comfortable and will have fun during the session. Sometimes we explain it like we are sort of following them on date night. Just documenting them, as a couple, doing what they normally do together. It doesn't matter if it's a favorite bar or restaurant, a sporting event, a picnic in the park, shopping, cooking together, or even hanging out at home, eating Chinese takeout, snuggling with the dog on the couch, and watching a movie. Truly...the sky's the limit, and we have shot so many unique and special engagement sessions over the years! Emily and Peter really like hanging out in their Waldo neighborhood, and they are also a very "outdoorsy" couple. They like hiking, camping, canoeing, etc. So, we started out with coffee at one of their favorite spots, Coffee Girls, and then headed to Swope Park. It was a gorgeous cool, crisp fall day, and their session was perfectly them. We can't wait for their new adventure to begin next June!
