Mia and Jacob | Kansas City Wedding at Lake Quivira Country Club
Wow. Never did we ever think we’d be saying, “This is our first wedding since the global pandemic started.” But I guess someone had to pave the way. And truthfully, there is no better couple to do so than Mia and Jacob. We have been excited for their wedding since they booked with us back in March of 2019, and even though their day didn’t turn out exactly how they originally planned, it was pretty much perfect.
“How can you say it was perfect with everything going on and if everyone was wearing masks” you ask? Well, it was perfect because at the end of the day, they accomplished what they set out to accomplish. They got married. And even though we know it’s fun to plan the huge party and everything else that usually goes along with a wedding, when all is said and done, what is it all really about anyway? It’s about you and the one you love getting married and starting your new life together. And these two did just that.
From the lavender coordinated bridesmaid masks, to the car parade through the church parking lot with all their local friends and family who didn’t attend the ceremony, they truly didn’t leave a stone unturned. We especially loved how so many people had masks that matched their outfits [who said masks couldn’t be stylish?], and all the special ways they incorporated Mia’s father [who passed away when she was 16] into the day. Cheers, Dave! But our favorite part of the day, hands down? It was photographing the two of them under the same tree where Jacob asked Mia to be his girlfriend, where he proposed to her, AND where they have taken an anniversary photo every year. That tree better NEVER die. Oh, and did we mention that their wedding date is the 7 year anniversary of their very first date?!?
It honestly didn’t feel as if anything was missing on this day. And like we said before. . .in the end, they got married. Done and done.
Mia and Jacob. . .thank you soooo much for trusting us to tell your story. It will go down in history as one of the really special ones and my, what tales you will have to tell someday. It has been such an honor and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to start things back up than with the two of you. <3
