Julian Family | Kansas City Anniversary + Family Portrait Session

Earlier this year, two of our most treasured friends celebrated 10 years of marriage. They had planned to go back where it all began and renew their vows in New Orleans. But ya know. . .Covid. HOWEVER, rather than letting that get them down, they made some alternate plans which we think turned out even lovelier.

They have built a beautiful life together. . .2 adorable doggies, a gorgeous home, and the cutest little boy you ever did see. And none of that would have happened if they hadn’t gotten married. So, they decided to celebrate it all and do a styled anniversary shoot + family photo session at, none other than, home sweet home. And it didn’t hurt that fall and Halloween are two of their favorite things in the whole wide world.

Megan, planner extraordinaire that she is, impeccably set the scene. Stunning flowers from Good Earth Floral Design Studio, perfectly moody fall decor, their custom bottle of 10 year old scotch, and her world famous [and gorgeous!] apple pie. We photographed them by their serviceberry tree [which was for their 4th and 5th anniversaries…fruit/flowers and wood], got some portraits with their pups and sweet little Jack [who really didn’t want anything to do with family photos, but hey. . .we made it work], and a few of them reading the new vows they wrote for each other. Oh, and a smoke bomb. #rawr

After a quick outfit change, we finished things off with some fun Halloween/fall/pumpkin photos, and Jack made up for his earlier indifference by showing off his sweet ride.

Julians, we are so thankful for your friendship, and when this craziness ends, we will take the trip to end all trips and celebrate all the things. Love you all.
