Rebecca and Thomas | Kansas City Engagement Session in the River Market

We were so excited to hear from Rebecca when she first reached out to us about her upcoming wedding to Thomas. We photographed her cousin’s wedding several years ago, and they are just such a great family! We are thrilled to be working with them again!

What we love the most about engagement sessions is the fact that it isn’t a “special” day, like a wedding day. It’s a normal day in the life of a couple. . .a chance to photograph them simply being themselves and spending time in some of their favorite places. Sometimes we tell them to just plan a date night, and we will be there to document it for them. Pretty genius, if we do say so ourselves.

Rebecca and Thomas have such a sweet story and had some really fun ideas for their session. Their first date was at Nguyen Pho in the City Market. After they were done eating, they spent some time walking around the area, which remains one of their favorite things to do. They also love trying out new breweries [and hanging out at some old favorites]. Who doesn’t?

For their first Valentine’s Day, she gave him a card with a watercolor painting of the City Market sign, because that’s when she first started to feel like their relationship could really be something special. So of course it was fitting that we shot this session on Valentine’s Day! <3
