Courtney and Colson | Kansas City Proposal at Weston Red Barn Farm
We LOVE a good surprise. And this one definitely did not disappoint.
A few weeks ago, we had the chance to chat with Taylor [Courtney’s sister and Colson’s soon-to-be sister-in-law]. The two of them had been conspiring on what might just be the #bestplanever to surprise Courtney with a proposal. The two of them created a fake benefit party, at the beautiful Weston Red Barn Farm, complete with fake invitations and all. Go big or go home, right? So, Courtney made plans accompany Colson to said benefit, only to be completely surprised when the barn doors opened and she saw what was actually inside.
Their friends and family had spent the day setting up the barn for the big moment, and it was absolutely stunning. After he presented her with a book that he had made that journaled all of their years together, he grabbed the ring that had been strategically stashed, and got down on one knee. She said yes. . .duh. Whew.
After spending some time taking some portraits of the two of them to commemorate the occasion, it was goodbye. Or so Courtney thought. It was actually time for us to head back to her mom’s house for a surprise engagement party. And surprised she was. Really, is there anything better than being surrounded by those you love the most [and who love you the most] to celebrate one of the biggest days of your life? We think not.
