Adrienne and Bryan | Kansas City Engagement Session
We don’t always tell the full story of how our couples meet and get engaged, but this is one of our favorites in a long time. So bear with us. :)
Adrienne and Bryan met on a dating app [who doesn’t these days?], and she was just about ready to give up on the whole process. Until she saw a photo of Bryan holding a dog and wearing a Mizzou sweatshirt. So she told herself she’d give it one last try.
Their first date was at Hi-Dive and they ended up talking for five hours. They realized they were both at Mizzou at the same exact time and had a ton of mutual friends. Crazy, right?!? They figured there had to have been a time their paths crossed, but they can't remember ever meeting. They also realized that one of Bryan's best friends from childhood, Sarah, was actually one of Adrienne’s very first friends in the all-girl's dorm she lived in. Sarah will, of course, be a bridesmaid.
After they had been dating for a while, they planned a trip to Chicago [Adrienne’s hometown] to visit her cousin and her husband and see their new baby. That Friday, they spent the morning sightseeing. They took the train to Wrigleyville to see a Cubs game, then headed back downtown, cleaned up and got on a yacht with her cousin, where they had drinks and cruised down the river at sunset. After a fancy dinner, the four of them parted ways, and Bryan took Adrienne for a walk down by the river. It was there that he found a secluded spot, and pulled out the ring. She was completely shocked [and THRILLED!]. They hugged, cried and eventually got chased out of the area by security. I mean, it’s not a memorable night if you don’t get chased by security at some point.
Adrienne was so touched that he made it a point to propose in her hometown, and they are planning a fall wedding right here in KC, where they now call home. For their cold, winter engagement session, their friend, who own’s John’s Greenhouse in Waldo, graciously offered to let us use the space for some photos. It was perfect! And we ended the session back in their neighborhood, taking their two sweet pups for a walk.
We can’t wait for their big day in September. Until then. . .
How did you meet your significant other? We would love to hear the story!
