Merritt and Mike | Winston-Salem, NC Wedding

In August, we visited Merritt and Mike in Wisconsin for their engagement session. And a couple weeks ago, we made the trek to Winston-Salem, NC for their wedding. There was so much to love about this day, and it’s been a long time since we’ve done a top 10 [or some other random number] list. So let’s do it!

1.] Merritt’s AMAZING and unique dress. Wowza.
2.] The way her dad looked at her as he walked her down the aisle.
3.] That stunningly beautiful little flower girl.
4.] Simple, lovely orchids as centerpieces. Why does nobody else do this?!?
5.] The way we could actually see their stress melt away when they held hands around the corner before the ceremony.
6.] Hitting up the Old Salem Visitor’s Center for photos. It’s so pretty there!!
7.] Plaid shirts and jeans for all the bridesmaids when they were getting ready. . .instead of the usual matching robes or pjs. Brilliant.
8.] Did we mention the dress???
9.] The candlelight service [part of the Moravian Lovefeast] they did during their ceremony.
10.] The way Merritt and Mike genuinely, truly, 100% love each other.

Merritt and Mike, thank you so much for inviting us to travel to you not once, but twice! It has been such an honor getting to know both of you and to tell your story. If you’re ever in KC, make sure to hit us up and we’ll grab a beer [and maybe a few photos, too].
